Assoc. Prof. Karlo Houra, MD, PhD specializes in minimally invasive procedures and surgery of the cervical and lumbar spine. Since joining Aksis Specialty Hospital’s expert team in April 2017, he has been developing and applying the most advanced minimally invasive spinal treatments in this part of the world – particularly, endoscopic spine neurosurgery.

  • 2011 spent three months with Prof. Kapurala at Carolinas Pain Institute and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA
  • 2014 Assistant Professor at the Neurosurgery Department of the University of Rijeka Faculty of Medicine
  • 2014 completed the course Percutaneous lumbar and thoracic endoscopic spine surgery at the Institute of Clinical Anatomy Tübingen, Germany
  • 2014 completed Salzburg Weill Cornell University Seminar in Spinal Surgery
