A few days ago the 3rd Croatian congress of day surgery with international participation organized by the Croatian Society for Day Surgery was held in Opatija. As one of the pioneers of day surgery in Croatia we participated in the congress.
Let’s remember – we started with day spinal surgery 15 years ago, performing it to patients from all over Croatia, the region, Europe and the world.
Our nurse Ella Zimmermann held a lecture on the role of nurses and technicians in minimally invasive spinal surgery – before, during and after the procedure. These procedures enable faster patient recovery and shorter hospital stays, but require precise cooperation between all team members. Neurosurgeons, nurses and technicians, as well as physiatrists and physical therapists, work together and coordinate each with a specific task, ensuring that the patient receives the best possible care.
In the official medical journal of the Croatian Society of Surgery, Acta Chirurgica Croatica, our Ella’s work entitled The role of nurses and technicians in minimally invasive spine surgery was also published.
The dedication and expertise of our team enable the reduction of risks and complications, and patients return to their daily activities more quickly. Our goal is to improve healthcare and constantly improve our skills. The synergy of the entire team is key to the success of these operations.
